Belarusian, Venezuelan Presidents agree to meet soon
MINSK, June 22 (BelTA) - On the initiative of the Venezuelan side, the Presidents of Belarus and Venezuela had a telephone conversation on June 20, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. The two leaders talked to each other on the day Vice President of Venezuela Ramon Carrizales started his official visit to Belarus.
Alexander Lukashenko and Hugo Chavez discussed the all-round trade, economic and political cooperation of the two countries. The two leaders detailed the issues of large-scale joint projects in various spheres, from construction and engineering industry to petrochemistry. Special attention was turned to the implementation of the Belarusian-Venezuelan project on oil production in Venezuela.
The two heads of state also discussed several issues of the international importance. In particular, Alexander Lukashenko informed his Venezuelan counterpart on the results of the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Turkmenistan. Today it is very promising and developing, even during the current economic downturn, country in Central Asia.
