Agreement on the location of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia has been signed

The Belarus-Russia intergovernmental agreement on the location of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia has been signed in Moscow as of 17 December 2012. The document was signed by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Alexander Mikhnevich and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrei Denisov.

The agreement envisages the transfer of several buildings at 17/6 Maroseika Street in Moscow to the Republic of Belarus. The facilities include two non-residential buildings which will make part of the business and cultural complex of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. The construction of the embassy will conclude in 2014.

The agreement on the location of the Belarusian Embassy in the Russian Federation is valid for 99 years and can be automatically extended for the next decades.
