EEC reduces import customs duties

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is reducing customs duties on the import of some types of commodities. The relevant decision has been taken by the EEC Council.

A 5% duty is set on ambulifts (cabins for disabled passengers) and static converters for passenger electric locomotives.

Some types of component parts for civil air liner systems, including synchronous motors (not more than 18W) and transmitting equipment will enjoy zero customs duty.

Apart from this, zero customs duties will be put temporary from 1 November until 31 December 2012 inclusive on the import of transformers with liquid dielectric (148,000kVA), die-forging hydraulic presses and hydraulic radial forging machinery.

The abovementioned amendments will be included into the Single Customs Tariffs and the Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Classification of the Customs Union and will take effect 30 calendar days after the official publication of the ECC Council decision.
