A new law on export control to enter into force in six months 

On 11 May 2016 the President of the Republic of Belarus signed the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On export control”, adopted by the House of Representatives on 4 April 2016 and approved by the Council of the Republic on 21 April 2016.

The Law is aimed at determining legal and organizations bases for activity of state bodies and legal and natural persons connected with export of specific goods (works, services), as well as other good, information, works, services, intellectual activity results in relation to which foreign trade or intermediary activity is allowed only subject to obtaining a permission of the interdepartmental body on export control.

The Law was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 17 May 2016, and its main provisions enter into force in six months after the official publication.
