Strategy for handling spent nuclear fuel of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant approved

Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 22 August 2019 No. 558 approved the Strategy for handling spent nuclear fuel of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus informs.

The strategy provides for key organizational issues for the creation and implementation of a national SNF management system, main directions of scientific, technical and practical activities of the participants in the treatment process, a phased and adaptive approach based on the consent of the subjects involved in the treatment process to the final stage of the nuclear fuel cycle. The coordination of the implementation of the Strategy and control over its implementation are carried out by the Ministry of Energy.

The Resolution was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 28 August 2019 and entered into force after its official publication.
