Visa-free travel area to expand in Brest and Grodno Oblasts

According to the Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 7 August 2019 No. 300 “On establishing a visa-free entry and exit procedure for foreign citizens” the existing separate visa-free travel areas around Brest and Grodno have been combined into one visa-free travel area named Brest-Grodno, the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus informs.

On the Brest-Grodno visa-free territory, the period of visa-free stay for tourism purposes is increased to 15 days for citizens of 73 states. Also two additional checkpoints on the state border – Benyakoni and Berestovitsa – will be opened to visa-free travelers.

The Edict was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 9 August 2019, and its main provisions enter into force in three months after its official publication.
