Law on the protection and use of peatbogs officially published
The Law of the Republic of Belarus “On the protection and use of peatbogs” was signed into law by the President of the Republic of Belarus on 18 December 2019, the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus informs.
The law establishes the legal framework for the protection of peatbogs, the rational (sustainable) use of their resources and is aimed at preservation of bogs, at preservation and restoration of the biosphere functions of the bogs, satisfaction of the economic and other needs in those resources of present and future generations, as well as at realization of citizens' rights to a favorable environment and nature management.
The Law was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 27 December 2019 and enters into force in one year after the official publication.
