President approved measures stimulating demand for electric vehicles
The Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 12 Mach 2020 No 92 “On stimulating the use of electric vehicles” approved measures aimed at stimulating demand for electric vehicles, as well as the creation of an appropriate charging and service infrastructure, the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus informs.
The Edict provides, in particular, that the owners of electric vehicles will have the right to reimbursement of VAT paid when importing electric vehicles to Belarus for personal use in the amount not exceeding 500 base units. According to the Edict charging stations imported by legal persons or individual entrepreneurs to the territory of the Republic of Belarus are exempted from VAT payment.
The Edict was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 14 March 2020, and it main provisions enter into force in three months after its official publication.
