Belarus, UNICEF discuss cooperation on country program for 2021-2025

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with United Nations Children's Fund Representative in Belarus Tanja Radocaj on 16 February, BelTA has learned.

The parties discussed practical cooperation between Belarus and UNICEF in the implementation of the UNICEF's country program for Belarus for 2021-2025 and its action plan.

The country program was approved by the UNICEF Executive Board in New York in September 2020. Program activities aim to protect children from violence, create a safe and healthy environment for them, including in cyberspace, and develop a restorative justice system for minors. The total budget of the country program is nearly $15 million.

The parties also discussed cooperation of Belarus with UNICEF in overcoming the coronavirus pandemic.
