Belarus, Cuba sign memorandum of cooperation in ICT

MINSK ( BelTA) – The Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Communications of Cuba concluded a memorandum of understanding and cooperation. The document was signed during a working meeting between Belarus' Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan and Cuba's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belarus Juan Valdes Figueroa, BelTA learned from the ministry's website.

As the ministry noted, the memorandum is aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of telecommunications, postal communications, assimilation of the information and communication technologies, including smart city technology and e-government, in industries and functional spheres of the economy.

The parties also discussed the prospects for the development of Belarusian-Cuban cooperation in the field of communications and ICT. The parties expressed mutual confidence that the development of cooperation in this area can serve as an additional impetus for further strengthening the Belarusian-Cuban trade and economic relations.

The parties exchanged invitations to take part in the 18th conference and international fair Together for Digital Transformation due in Havana on 21-25 March and the 28th international ICT forum TIBO 2022 in Minsk in June.
