Belarus, DPRK agree to intensify cooperation

BelTA) – During the official visit of the Belarusian delegation to the DPRK, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Choe Son-hui held talks in Pyongyang on 24 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed in detail the whole range of bilateral issues and agreed on concrete steps to intensify contacts between the countries at various levels.
“Agreements were reached on the next steps to develop the legal framework and intensify cooperation between the foreign ministries and in a number of areas. These include healthcare, education, agriculture, culture and sport,” the press service said. “The ministers took note of the similarity of positions and agreed to continue joint efforts to move towards a just multipolar world order”.
In this context, consideration was given to the interaction of the two countries in international organizations and to global and regional security issues.
The DPRK foreign minister expressed support for Belarus' efforts to resist the illegitimate sanctions and restrictions imposed by a group of Western countries.
