Eurasian Economic Community Agreement on Customs Missions ratified

The Law of the Republic of Belarus as of 4 May 2012 №364-3 “On Ratification of the Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in Customs matters on the issues of activities of Customs Missions of states – members of the Customs Union within the framework of Eurasian Economic Community” ratifies the Agreement signed in Moscow as of 22 June 2011.

This Agreement establishes the rules of functioning of such Customs missions and states that they can be created in the form of a separate unit with rights of a legal person or as a part the diplomatic mission of another Party.

The officials of such Customs Missions perform the following functions: monitoring of compliance with the Customs legislation of the Customs Union, preparation of proposals on efficiency improvement of the Customs legislation, analysis of customs control in the host country, analysis of data on trade flows, study of customs technologies, participation in informational exchange between customs services of the Parties, etc.

The Agreement comes into force from the date of receipt by the depositary of the last written notification through diplomatic channels after its official ratification by the Parties.
