The National Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital in Ostroshitsky Gorodok is a multipurpose healthcare facility providing rehabilitation to children under 18. Thanks to cutting-edge equipment, highly qualified personnel, and modern treatment methods, the hospital can provide rehabilitation of a variety of diseases. An individual rehabilitation protocol is made for each child. Rehabilitation includes medical, pedagogical and psychological treatment.

The hospital uses numerous medical rehabilitation methods, like kinesitherapy, all types of massage, reflex therapy, herbal medicine, oxygen cocktails, drug therapy, as well as psychological and physiotherapeutic methods.

In 2011 the hospital provided rehabilitation services to about 3,000 children.

The recent years have seen drastic changes in healthcare provision to mothers and children in Belarus. A multi-level system of healthcare provision was established, national scientific and practical centers were opened, high technologies were assimilated, liver and kidney transplant surgeries are performed to children. The physical infrastructure of healthcare facilities is being constantly improved, so is the quality of medical treatment of children.

Constant monitoring of children’s health allowed developing a number of measures articulated in the national demographic security program for 2011-2015.

Taking part in the New Year charity event for children a day before, Alexander Lukashenko said that he was going to meet with children who were left without parents and children who will have to celebrate New Year’s Day in hospital to give them presents. “Holiday will come to each child!” the President said.

The press service of the head of state informed that Alexander Lukashenko is going to visit children’s social facilities on 29 and 30 December.
