Belaya Rus to consider name change in 2012

MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – The republican public association “Belaya Rus” can change the name as it transforms into a party in 2012, BelTA leant from Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus, the chairman of Belaya Rus Alexander Radkov.

Having become a party, Belaya Rus will most likely change the name to the Belarusian Party of National Unity. “We must fit into traditional European party systems,” explained Alexander Radkov.

According to him, transformation into a party will require Belaya Rus to work through a range of issues. There is a need to look into the policy documents, the structure of the future party taking into account modern legislation. “We have already laid the groundwork, and in 2012 we will submit these matters for the consideration of the Congress,” Alexander Radkov informed.
