Customs Union Agroindustrial Association to meet in Belovezhskaya Pushcha 16 December

MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – The first meeting of the Agroindustrial Association of the Customs Union will take place in Belovezhskaya Pushcha on 16 December, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus.

The event will focus on legislation harmonization and state support of agriculture in the Customs Union, development of network-based trade in the Customs Union. The meeting participants will consider the issues related to the Agroindustrial Association as a mechanism harmonizing the agro-industrial sector in the single economic space, establishing the common dairy, meat and potato markets.

Attending the meeting will be representatives of the agriculture ministries of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, members of the board and founders of the association, agricultural experts from the three countries.

The foundation meeting of the Agroindustrial Association of the Customs Union took place in Moscow on 13 October 2011. The founders of the association are leading sectoral unions and associations as well as large agro-industrial companies of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The Supervisory Board of the Agroindustrial Association of the Customs Union has been headed by Agriculture Minister of Russia Elena Skrynnik. Chairman of the Community Council of the Agriculture Ministry of the Russian Federation Andrei Danilenko has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Association.

The association will promote sustainable development of the Customs Union common market of agricultural produce, raw material, food, and agrarian technologies.
