Yerevan hosts ministerial consultations on cooperation in CIS

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Ministerial consultations highlighting cooperation within the CIS will be held in Yerevan on 1-2 December, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Savinykh told media on 1 December.

Partaking in the consultations on Belarus’ behalf will be chief counselor of the Foreign Ministry’s Department for the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian Economic Community Alexander Sidoruk.

The consultations will cover different forms and areas of cooperation between the CIS member states. The agenda of the meeting will include issues of enhancing food security, freight and electricity transportation and transit, labor migration and social security of migrant workers.

The meeting participants are also expected to consider and approve an action plan of multilevel consultations in the CIS in 2012. Preliminary the document is to include 11 events in the most essential areas of cooperation for the CIS member states.
