Global Entrepreneurship Week kicks off in Belarus

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) will be held in Belarus from 14 to 20 November, BelTA learnt from the PR department of the Economy Ministry.

The week will embrace 15 events in Minsk and oblast centers. The forum is meant to unite representatives of the government, diplomatic missions, corporations, universities, business associations and businessmen of the country. In line with the 2011 Year of Entrepreneurship declared by the Belarus Government, GEW Belarus will emphasize its role as a catalyst to bring forth a start-up culture among the youth. GEW coordinator in Belarus is BELBIZ Center of Business Communication.

This year the Global Entrepreneurship Week will be held in 130 countries. Belarus is expected to welcome more than 10,000 people in its contests, conferences, trainings, presentations and roundtables.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
