“I am convinced that the economic potential that has been developed over the recent years, decisions outlined and adopted to improve the economic relations will help Belarus implement its social and economic development program that was approved by the fourth All-Belarus People’s Congress,” the Belarusian head of government said.

The major objectives of the program are polish the economic structure, reduce its import dependence, create favorable conditions for doing business and human potential development. “Our economy needs to gradually open to mutually beneficial international integration including transnational corporations, efficient business, other resources of development, technologies and know-how,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

This year the government’s major effort has been on a macroeconomic balance, economic development and social security of the population. This work has been done in close cooperation with the National Bank in a bid to stabilize the currency market, he added.

According to the PM, the current situation requires optimization of the funds allocated to public programs, budget expenses, the import of goods and services. The government had to seek additional resources for these purposes what was quite difficult to do given the deficit of the country’s gold and forex reserves.
