Austria ready to partake in Belarus’ privatization program

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Austrian businessmen are ready to take part in the privatization of Belarusian companies, Vice President of the Austrian Chamber of
Commerce Richard Schenz told media on 10 November.

An Austrian delegation comprising over 20 representatives of energy, engineering, medical and tourism companies is in Belarus on an official visit. Austrian businessmen have so far held a number of negotiations with the Belarusian companies and ministries. “We hope for further intensification of contacts with Belarus and plan to bring them onto a new qualitative level. We are interested in both trade and investment cooperation with Belarus,” Richard Schenz said.

According to the head of the delegation, Austrian companies are interested in expanding relations with Belarus in healthcare since Austria has a big potential in the production of medical equipment and Belarus boasts high-quality medical education.
