Alexander Lukashenko extends greetings on October Revolution Day

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated his compatriots on October Revolution Day celebrated on 7 November, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

The head of state stressed that the history proves the significance of the ideals of the Great October that liberated working people from exploitation and oppression, ensured equality and social justice. The commitment of peoples to self-determination and independence on their native land was preserved by our fathers and grandfathers during the foreign intervention, in the tragic period of the Great Patriotic War, in the hard post-Soviet nineties.

“Belarus has chosen a path towards building a sovereign, socially oriented state. Our development model helped us get our industry and agriculture into high gear despite external shocks and multiply what we have inherited,” the message of congratulations says.

According to the President, today's peace and social stability, the absence of strong social differentiation, the supremacy of law and order prove the correctness of the chosen path.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that in spite of all temporary difficulties Belarus would continue making headway to guarantee a life of dignity for its people.
