Novgorod Oblast, Belarus to expand cooperation in cattle breeding, construction

MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Russia’s Novgorod Oblast is ready to expand cooperation with Belarus in cattle breeding and construction, Novgorod Oblast Governor Sergei Mitin told Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 11 October.

In his words, a lot of positive changes have taken place in Belarus since his previous visit to the country. A great amount of new facilities including sports centers have been constructed.

The Governor believes that Belarus and Novgorod Oblast still have a huge untapped potential for cooperation. In his words, it is high time the two regions switched to the implementation of joint projects.

As a positive example he cited the cooperation in plant breeding. Owing to Belarusian scientists, Novgorod Oblast has already reached the wheat harvest yield of 70 centners per hectare.

Sergei Mitin believes that there is a lot to learn from Belarus in construction too. He also informed that Belarus and Novgorod Oblast have already agreed on a joint project in beef husbandry.

Together, we will implement many mutually beneficial projects, the Governor said.
