Lukashenko calls upon EU, U.S. to abandon long-held stereotypes of Belarus

MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – In his speech at the Tajik Technical University named after Academician M.S. Osimi on 29 October Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko called upon the European Union and the USA to abandon those long-held stereotypes of Belarus and make way to full-scale cooperation, BelTA has learnt.

“European double standards, pressure and sanctions will never become a constructive policy. I am confident it is high time they removed all the artificial barriers, abandoned those hold-held stereotypes and made way to full-scale cooperation meeting the interests of our nations,” the head of state stressed.

In his words, the same is true about the relations with the United States. “It was not us who complicated the bilateral dialogue. Belarus has always been a responsible partner of the United States in the fight against terrorism, drugs traffic, money laundering and trafficking in human beings,” the Belarusian leader noted. Belarus also assists Washington in addressing the Afghan problem.
