Ecuador interested in reliable economic relations with Belarus
MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Ecuador is interested in reliable economic relations with Belarus, Director of the export promotion agency Pro Ecuador Maria Fernanda De Luca told media on 17 October.
“We hope our relations will be tighter,” said the Director of the Agency.
In her words, the Ecuadorian government delegation has brought several projects to Belarus. Ecuador is primarily interested in implementing power engineering projects, in particular, hydropower, solar energy and wind energy projects. Besides, the Ecuadorian side suggests projects for infrastructure development (construction of roads and homes), a major oil processing project, projects for processing food, development of services sphere (telecommunications, communications), science and technology.
Vyacheslav Reut, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told media that in January-August 2011 Belarus-Ecuador trade totaled $31.3 million, 43.4% up on January-August 2011.
Belarus cooperates with Latin America countries via Venezuela. According to the Belarusian official, Belarus can sell machines to the region and provide various services, like construction services in Venezuela.
The delegation of the Ecuadorian government will stay in Belarus on a visit on 16-18 October.
