Poland criticized for politicizing relations with Polish national minority in Belarus
MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – The Foreign Ministry notes the politicization of relations with the Polish national minority in Belarus by the authorities of Poland, Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh says in his commentary on the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ summoning the Belarusian Ambassador.
“We welcome the assurances given by Poland in the absence of any infringement on the sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus,” Andrei Savinykh said.
“At the same time we cannot ignore the attempts of the Polish authorities to politicize the relations with the Polish national minority in Belarus, provision of funds for interference with the domestic policies of the country, and irresponsible statements by the Polish top officials in regard to Belarus,” Andrei Savinykh stressed.
“Poland’s refusal to take these provocative actions will eliminate many unnecessary problems in bilateral relations,” the Belarusian official added.
