Chairman of China Standing Committee to visit Minsk

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) - Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Wu Bangguo is expected to paid an official visit to Belarus on 17-20 September, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Viktor Burya told BelTA.

“This visit is an evidence of a high level of friendly and strategic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China, common principles and similar views on conducting domestic and foreign policies, vibrant all-round cooperation between the two countries,” Viktor Burya believes.

The Chinese high guest will come to Minsk together with representatives of the Chinese government bodies, banks, and businessmen that maintain relations with the Republic of Belarus.

The Chinese official is expected to meet with the country’s authorities, hold talks with Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko.

The agenda will include the issues of political and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The major document for signing is an intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a Chinese-Belarusian industrial park.

According to Viktor Burya, a number of agreements are expected to be signed with the Chinese banks. A framework agreement on financial cooperation in privatization and attraction of Chinese investment in the Republic of Belarus in 2011-2013 will become a new stage in relations with the Export-Import Bank of China. Several bilateral documents will be signed with the China Development Bank to finance the projects in energy and woodworking industry.

“We hope the visit will become the next step in further development of bilateral relations,” the diplomat said.
