BCCI, ROTOBO sign memorandum of understanding

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and New Independent States (ROTOBO) have signed a memorandum of understanding. The document was inked during a visit of the BCCI delegation to Japan on 23-25 April, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The visit of Belarusian representatives to Japan took place under the auspices of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of Belarus in Tokyo. The group of businessmen led by BCCI Deputy Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich comprised representatives of a number of Belarusian companies including small and medium-sized business.

The delegation presented the export potential of the Belarusian economy at ROTOBO. Partaking in the event were large Japanese corporations such as Mitsui, Marubeni, Sumitomo, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, and others.

Vladimir Ulakhovich met with the Vice President of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The sides took stock of the progress made in the implementation of the agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1999, and confirmed readiness to assist mutual participation in exhibitions on the territory of the two countries.

Members of the Belarusian delegation held a number of meetings with representatives of Japanese companies interested in bilateral cooperation.
