Belarus’ Foreign Ministry denies allegations of illegal arms sales to Cote d’Ivoire

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – The Foreign Ministry of Belarus calls media’s allegations on Belarus’ illegal arms supplies to Cote d’Ivoire in defiance of the UN sanctions a phony attempt of some journalists to confuse the matter, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Savinykh told BelTA.

Commenting on the situation, Andrei Savinykh said: “This is not even an accusation. It is simply a phony attempt to confuse the matter as the proverb says.”

The official stressed that there were no official accusations from the United Nations. Belarus is always open to cooperation with the UN Cote d’Ivoire Sanctions Committee which report these journalists are referring to, Andrei Savinykh added.
