MAZ, Cummins talk over engine supplies
MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) and Cummins Inc. (the United States) discussed the plans for supplies of engines for Belarusian trucks in 2012-2013, BelTA has learnt.
Minsk was visited by several representatives of Cummins: Vice President Richard Kleine, General Manager Brett Merritt, Director General of the Cummins Office in Moscow Andrei Lavrenov. The participants of the meeting discussed cooperation development regarding the supplies of Cummins diesel engines Euro-3, Euro-4 for MAZ vehicles.
The sides also talked over pricing issues and development of a joint service network. Cummins showed its readiness to provide service support at its stations as well as assistance in accreditation of MAZ stations in Belarus and Russia.
The Belarusian company has so far purchased 15 Euro-3 and Euro-4 engines. In April 2012 it expects another batch of 53 engines, with 78 more coming in June.
