Belarus President’s state of nation address postponed

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – The President's state of the nation address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly initially scheduled for 19 April has been postponed. The head of state dismissed the draft document prepared by the state bodies and sent it for finalization, chief of the presidential press service Pavel Lyogky told BelTA.

The President instructed to finalize some parts of his speech regarding state property privatization and the country’s foreign political policy.

The head of state tasked the state bodies to focus on the matters of principle: avoid excessive liberality in the state property sales, unacceptability of so-called mass privatization, compulsory and universal protection of the interests of workers and ordinary citizens of Belarus during possible privatization of companies.

As for the foreign political course, the head of state was opposed to extra tough measures in response to the problems in Belarus’ relations with its partners.
