Construction of plants producing Belarusian trucks and tractors finished in Venezuela

MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Belarusian specialists have completed the construction of plants producing MAZ trucks and MTZ tractors in Venezuela’s Barinas State, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Architecture and Construction Ministry of Belarus.

The construction of these manufacturing facilities aims to develop the automobile and tractor industry in Venezuela, meet the domestic demand for these machines and reduce reliance on imports. Belarus plans to expand export of trucks and tractors to Latin America.

The production capacities of the new plants MAZ VEN and Veneminsk Tractores are estimated at about 5,000 trucks and 10,000 tractors per year. The facilities occupy a total of 18 hectares.

Besides, the press service of the ministry informed that the plant to product construction materials has already made its first products. The construction of the plant is part of the cooperation program in municipal and housing planning and infrastructure between Venezuela and Belarus.

“The commissioning of the plant will solve social issues, like providing the housing sector with building materials, reducing the deficit of housing, creating jobs for local people,” stressed the press service.

In addition, by commissioning the new plant of building materials, Venezuela will be able to determine the capacity and number of plants needed to satisfy the domestic demand for building materials.

The new plant is located in the State of Miranda in the industrial zone “El Marques”, 31.7 km away from Caracas. The planned capacity of the enterprise is 25 million clay blocks per year, but it can be increased by 30% more.

Belarusian specialists continue working on new industrial facilities in Venezuela, including a plant to produce road and construction equipment on the basis of Amkodor products.

According to the press service, new head of Belzarubezhstroi Vitaly Bondarik is confident that all construction agreements between Belarus and Venezuela will be implemented. For this the company which plays the leading role in the export of construction services to Venezuela will take every effort to fulfill the instructions of the Architecture and Construction Ministry.
