Lukashenko: Belarus-Russia integration meets the interests of the two nations

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of congratulations to President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on the occasion of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia marked on 2 April, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

“The course for further integration meets the interests of Belarusian and Russian citizens,” the message of congratulations says.

The Belarusian head of state has also sent a letter of congratulations to Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, newly elected President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

“The Belarusian-Russian integration has opened great opportunities for mutually beneficial bilateral relations,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“I am confident that out joint efforts will keep on promoting deeper integration for stable and happy life of the Belarusian and Russian people,” the President of Belarus noted.

Letters of congratulations have been also sent to Chairwoman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergei Naryshkin, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota and other political figures.
