Russia to support Belarus, Kazakhstan’s WTO entry

MOSCOW, 22 August (BelTA) – Now being the WTO member, Russia is determined to support Belarus and Kazakhstan in joining the World Trade Organization, reads Russia’s draft strategy to protect national interests in the WTO, developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

The strategy defines Russia’s basic positions regarding certain areas of international economic cooperation. Thus, first efforts to remove the existing restrictions on the Russian export will be taken in autumn already. As of 1 July 2012, nineteen countries applied 73 protective measures against Russian goods, including 40 anti-dumping duties, three special protective duties, 14 non-tariff measures, four technical barriers, five quota restrictions, others.
