International observers to monitor candidate registration in Vitebsk Oblast

TOLOCHIN DISTRICT, 22 August (BelTA) – International observers from the CIS will monitor the election campaign in Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learnt from deputy head of the personnel management department of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee Leonid Dorofeyenko.

A group of international observers will get familiar with the election campaign, preparations for the parliamentary elections and the voting, the activity of precinct election commissions (PECs). International observers are expected to partake in PECs meetings.

On 22 August all 14 PECs are set to register candidates to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly. In Vitebsk Oblast 61 persons submitted documents for a seat in parliament, of them 34 are party members.
