IALC supports Belarus’ tree-planting initiative

MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Head of the World Association for Logging Championships (IALC) Max Fischer liked the idea of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry to plant trees to replace those cut at the 30th World Logging Championship. He promised to take part in the undertaking, BelTA has learnt.

Max Fischer together with other representatives of the association is conducting the final assessment of the country’s readiness for the competition. On 21 August they visited the Logoisk Forestry and the Raubichi sports center.

The IALC experts are set to assess Belarusian judges on 22 August. The day promises to be eventful for the organizers and participants of the championship. The Belarusian panel of judges will take a closer look at the cutting area and stands. Besides, measuring instruments brought from Switzerland will be tested. Such instruments are used to measure the results at all world logging championships. Other events for 22 August include the team drawing procedure, chainsaw readiness tests and a meeting of the panel of judges.
