Lukashenko: Let Christmas unite people and help do good things

MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Belarusian Christians on Christmas, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Christmas brings a special atmosphere that helps forget about hustle and bustle of daily life in pleasurable anticipation of miracles. “A simple Evangelic story that happened over two thousand years ago still inspires millions of people around the world, encourages them to become more kind and humane, help fellow creatures and open their hearts for compassion and love,” the message reads.

The President emphasized: “In line with an old tradition Belarusian believers celebrate this family holiday with their dear ones, sharing these precious moments with the ones they love most. I am convinced that you, my dear fellow countrymen, are looking forward to Christmas, with appreciation of all the good things that happened to you in the year 2012 and with hope for the best in the coming year. Let Christmas unite us, help us do good things and work hard for the prosperity of our beautiful Belarus”.

The head of state wished Belarusians good health, success in everything they do, fulfillment of their wishes, happiness and well-being.
