Andreichenko to lead Belarus’ delegation at Union State PA session

MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – A delegation of the National Assembly of Belarus led by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly Vladimir Andreichenko will take part in the regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State that will be held in Moscow on 18 December, BelTA learnt from Chairman of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs of the House of Representatives Nikolai Samoseiko.

The session is to discuss the Union State draft budget for 2013 and introduce amendments to the 2012Union State budget. The MPs are set to discuss and approve the international agenda of the Parliamentary Assembly for the next year.

Speaking about the international agenda Nikolai Samoseiko noted: “Now the Union State of Belarus and Russia is the locomotive of integration processes on the post-Soviet space. However, cooperation with European countries and Southeast Asia is also possible. We pursue a multi-vector policy.”

Technical issues will also be discussed during the session. The new composition of the Belarusian parliament will necessitate some rotation of members of the Parliamentary Assembly delegated by Belarus. The session will also approve new composition of commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly and elect chairmen and deputy chairmen for some of them.
