Belarus, China to assemble LED displays together

MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) – The State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus suggests expanding the areas of activities pursued by the Belarusian-Chinese technological cluster in Changchun, the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee told BelTA.

The Belarusian and Chinese sides have signed agreements to start assembling LED displays and make laser equipment for cosmetological purposes together. The production of linear synchronous motors and servo controllers as well as protective and guiding items made of polytetrafluorethylene will be organized.

Apart from that, in 2012 business plans for five innovative projects were prepared and forwarded to the Chinese partners for the sake of assessing the economic advisability of implementing them in the Belarusian-Chinese technological cluster in Changchun.

Opportunities for expanding Belarus-China cooperation in science and technology were discussed at the meeting of Mr Anatoly Silchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee, with a delegation of the Jilin Province of China. The delegation was led by Mr Yang Jun-Liang, Secretary of the party organization of the Changchun High Technology Development Zone. The implementation of joint projects will allow creating a solid connecting link between the development, assimilation and sales of high-tech products. At present the technological cluster focuses on photoelectronics, laser technology, new materials and power engineering, farming technologies and biotechnologies, information science. At the meeting the sides agreed to hold a session of the council for running the Belarusian-Chinese industrial cluster in 2013.

The delegation of the Jilin Province of China included Mr Yang Jun-Liang, Secretary of the party organization of the Changchun High Technology Development Zone, Secretary of the party organization of the branch of the China First Automobile Group Bai You, Chairperson of the Board of OOO Changchun Optics Company Yuheng Ling Chang You, Deputy Director General of the Chinese-Russian industrial cluster in Changchun Wang Jinda. While in Minsk they visited several educational establishments, government agencies and OAO Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ).
