Belarus, Korea demonstrate strong sci-tech ties

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Belarus and the Republic of Korea have been successfully cooperating in the sci-tech sector, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Belarus Kang Weon Sik told BelTA.

The diplomat gave an account of relations between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technologies of Korea and the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus. In his words, the level of cooperation is also high between the Belarusian National Technical University and Korean education and research organizations. The Belarusian-Korean center for sci-tech cooperation that opened in June 2011 testifies to the fact.

Scientists of the two countries are in a constant search for new areas of cooperation.

The Ministry of Economy and Knowledge of the Republic of Korea provides financial support to joint projects, promotes an exchange of the professional personnel between Korean and Belarusian companies, universities, and research centers, the Ambassador noted.

The diplomat expressed confidence that sci-tech cooperation would continue developing both at the governmental and private levels.
