Belarus secures oil discounts for four years

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Belarus has negotiated discounted oil prices for four years, Chairman of Belneftekhim Concern Igor Zhilin told reporters on 3 February, BelTA has learnt.

“We managed to negotiate very good oil supply terms for 2012-2015. Oil supplies will be increased by 12% compared with the last year. And we have negotiated discounted prices for oil products for four years,” Igor Zhilin said.

Today’s oil prices for Belarus are about the same as Russia’s domestic prices, he added. Belarus pays $400 less for oil than other countries, which means the prices “are lower than Russia’s export oil prices for the neighboring states”. This gives Belarus an opportunity to increase the profitability of oil refining and get greater profits, Igor Zhilin noted.
