EurAsEC may consider provision of third tranche to Belarus in February

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) - Belarus expects that the Council of the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund will consider the provision of the third tranche of the stabilization loan in February, Finance Minister of Belarus Andrei Kharkovets told BelTA.

Last week, a group of experts completed reviewing the implementation by Belarus of the conditions necessary to obtain the loan from the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund. “It was a working expert assessment of our work in 2011,” Andrei Kharkovets said.

Belarus expects that the decision will be in its favor, and the Council of the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund will consider provision of another tranche of the loan to Belarus in February. “Belarus met almost all indicators. There are only a few things that require adjustments and they are technically permissible,” the minister said.

Belarus and the Eurasian Development Bank signed the agreement on providing the financial loan using money of the EurAsEC Anticrisis Fund on 9 June 2011. Belarus will borrow a total of $3 billion. The money will be transferred in six tranches in 2011-2013. Belarus has already received the first two tranches. Their total sum is $1.24 billion. It is expected that in 2012-2013 Belarus will get the other four tranches (two each year). Each tranche will be $440 million.
