Lukashenko talks about possible political reforms in Belarus

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – In an interview to the leading mass media of China ahead of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and China, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko talked about possible reforms in the Belarusian political system, BelTA has learnt.

The head of state believes that the current international situation demands the relevant response. “That is why today we are studying certain global trends and are trying to adapt and modernize our political system. We will hold parliamentary elections. I think we should pay serious consideration to a political reform or a reform of the political system of our country. We are ready to take this step. We should always be one step ahead of those processes that are to take place,” the President noted.

Alexander Lukashenko added: “The main thing is to preserve stability and provide people with decent living conditions and the right to express their opinions.”
