Berezastroimaterialy exports up 9.6% in 2011

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - In 2011 Berezastroimaterialy (Brest Oblast) increased its exports by 9.6% to $25.1 million as compared with 2010, BelTA learnt from deputy director general of the company Dmitry Yurkevich.

The company mainly sold its products to Russia and Ukraine. Last year it shipped 2.241 million and 965,000 square meters of ceramic tiles to these countries respectively. “There is a high demand for ceramic tiles under the Beryoza Ceramica trademark in Moldova, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Romania and Serbia. Belarus has already branched out in these countries,” Dmitry Yurkevich said. Berezastroimaterialy also sells into Lithuania, the EU member.

The company has its trading posts in every Belarusian oblast and large city.

Berezastroimaterialy is one of the country’s largest producers of ceramic tiles. Its annual output totals 6 million square meters. The company produces tiles for inside lining and floor using Italian technologies and equipment of the Italian firm Sacmi.

In 2011 the company produced 1.5 million square meters of floor tiles 300x300 as well as 4.4 million square meters of tiles for inside lining 200x300 and 250x350.

Last year the company’s capital investment made up Br54.5 billion.

Founded in 1967 as the Bereza Plant of Construction Materials, the company was reorganized into Berezastroimaterialy in 2006. The company is the holder of the Best Exporter of 2010 Award in the nomination “Construction and Production of Construction Materials”.
