Belarus’ export of construction materials up 20.8% in January-November 2011

MINSK, 11 January (BelTA) - In January-November 2011 producers of construction materials affiliated with the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Belarus exported $362.6 million worth of products, which was up 20.8% from the same period last year, BelTA learnt from the information and foreign trade department of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture.

In January-November 2011, producers of construction materials exported more than $38 million worth of cement, up 81% as against the same period last year. Export of precast reinforced concrete constructions and parts increased nearly twice to $22 million. Export of granulated chalk and limestone powder doubled to reach $270,000 and $4.6 million respectively. Export of wall materials went up by 10% from the same period 2010. Export of tiles went up by 2.2% to the tune of almost $86 million, sanitary and building ceramics by 19.2% to $12 million, mineral wool by 42% to about $13 million. Belarusian producers increased shipments of dolomite powder 2.6 times to $572,000, non-metallic building materials 2.5 times to $21 million.
