New China Ambassador to Belarus appointed
MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – The Chinese diplomatic mission in Belarus will be led by Gong Jianwei, Ambassador of the Foreign Ministry of China. He met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Viktor Burya to discuss the prospects of Belarusian-Chinese relations. The meeting took place at the Belarusian Embassy in Beijing on 8 January, BelTA has learnt.
The sides talked over a wide range of issues of bilateral political, trade, economic, credit and investment, humanitarian cooperation. They both expressed confidence in further successful development of Belarusian-Chinese relations.
Gong Jianwei noted that the previous ambassadors of the People’s Republic of China had built up a serious framework for bilateral relations.
Gong Jianwei has previously served as Ambassador to Moldova and Georgia.
