Belarus to attend Customs Union, EEC meetings in Moscow

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Vice Premier of Belarus Sergei Rumas will take part in the 34th meeting of the Customs Union Commission and the first meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Moscow on 25 January, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The Customs Union Commission will scrutinize the application of the Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods under Cover of TIR Carnets of 14 November 1975 within the Customs Union. The agenda of the meeting includes amendments to the single foreign economic activity commodity classification of the Customs Union and adjustment of import duties of the single customs tariffs in regard to certain categories of goods.

The participants of the meeting will also consider temporary import licensing for pedigree farm livestock and its products in Belarus, trade in spirits in the Customs Union. The meeting will focus on the amendments to the provision concerning the import to/export from the Customs Union of human organs and/or tissues, blood and its components. The agenda also includes the import/export of goods with an aim of preparing for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games and the 11th Winter Paralympics in Sochi in 2014.

The EEC Council will highlight the issues of reorganization of the EurAsEC, and the structure of its departments. The participants of the meeting will talk over the rules for concluding labor contracts, their extension and termination, allocation of orders and signing of contracts on delivery, works and services for the needs of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
