Ambassador: 24 documents signed during visit of Belarus’ President to Caracas

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) - During a visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Caracas, the sides signed 24 documents aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Belarus Americo Dias Nunez told a press conference timed to the forthcoming Independence Day of Venezuela on 5 July, BelTA has learnt.

The diplomat noted that the documents will help boost bilateral cooperation under the agreements which were signed earlier in the construction, gas supply projects, production of electricity for industrial areas, and development of new facilities to produce building materials.

According to the Ambassador, after the visit of Alexander Lukashenko an agreement was reached to construct four new agro-towns in Venezuela in addition to the one built in the State of Guarico. The two sides are also planning joint industrial extraction and processing of phosphate rocks in the State of Tachira to produce fertilizers.

The Ambassador of Venezuela emphasized the importance of the fact that Alexander Lukashenko and Hugo Chavez agreed to strengthen strategic partnership between Belarus and Venezuela by implementing new mutually beneficial agreements.
