CIS to discuss integration cooperation in St Petersburg

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – A wide range of issues regarding integration cooperation will be discussed at the 54th meeting of the CIS Economic Council in St Petersburg on 21 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Executive Committee.

The participants of the meeting will consider a number of draft documents: a cooperation strategy for CIS countries in building and developing a knowledge society and an action plan for its implementation through 2015, an agreement on interstate technical regulations, a model agreement on border cooperation, an action plan for 2012-2014 to implement the interstate program of the CIS innovation cooperation through 2020, a protocol on amendments in the agreement on the rules for determination of the country of origin of goods in the CIS of 20 November 2009.

The participants of the meeting will review the implementation of the action plan (in 2009-2011) of the CIS economic development strategy up to 2020, discuss the work of the Interstate Council and competition on the CIS retail market.

The agenda of the meeting also includes an issue of financing the action plan for medical and social assistance, enhancement of the quality of life of war veterans in 2013.
