Popov: MAZ buses are perfect for Ukrainian roads

KYIV, 19 June (BelTA) – Kyiv residents are happy with the quality of Belarusian MAZ buses which ply in the city, head of the Kyiv state administration Alexander Popov told BelTA.

Alexander Popov noted that comfortable buses of the Belarusian manufacture are perfect for Ukrainian roads. MAZs have made a good showing in the Ukrainian capital.

“Belarusian buses are comfortable and easy in driving,” Alexander Popov said.

He is also confident that the new public transport will be in great demand among the city dwellers. In particular, MAZ buses are designed for people with disabilities and have an improved ventilation system. Besides, they are equipped with Euro-3 engines with minimal environmental pollution.

According to Alexander Popov, new vehicles including Belarusian buses are acquired using the EBRD loans issued to the Ukrainian capital for the Euro-2012. At the same time the city authorities plan to continue renewing the passenger public transport fleet with the vehicles of such high quality in the future.

According to the plan, Kyiv is to purchase nearly 400 new vehicles, including 185 MAZ buses. As for today Ukraine has bought 168 MAZ buses.
