MAZ branches out into Kemerovo Oblast

MOSCOW, 8 June (BelTA) – The Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) opened its dealer service center in Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo Oblast, BelTA learnt from the press service of the oblast administration.

The facility will provide Kemerovo Oblast with a smooth exploitation of MAZ trucks, special-purpose and passenger vehicles, the press service noted.

Attending the opening ceremony was Kemerovo Oblast Vice Governor Sergei Kuznetsov who stressed that the vehicles made at the Minsk Automobile Plant are in great demand in the region. In his words, Kuzbass has imported more than 550 MAZ vehicles over the last five years.

The service center will accommodate up to four vehicles a day. The center plans to repair 120 vehicles this year. The productive capacity is expected to increase to 480 vehicles per year by 2014.

A similar center will be opened in Kemerovo by 2015. There plans to open an assembling plant for MAZ buses here as well.
