NBRB: main interest rate at 22% in 2012 is possible
MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus looks to reduce the main interest rate to 22% in 2012 given the inflation at 20%, Chairwoman of the Board of the National Bank Nadezhda Yermakova told media on 29 June.
“The forecast is 22% given the inflation at 20%. I hope it will be so,” Nadezhda Yermakova said.
She did not rule out that the main interest rate might be cut in July already. “June statistics on inflation rate will show how the main interest rate may reduce,” Nadezhda Yermakova added.
